How do you ride Peek-a-boo Slot Canyon by UTV?

Peek-a-boo Slot Canyon is reached via a soft-sand approach road roughly 8 miles southwest of Kanab; a 4-passenger Can-Am Maverick handles it comfortably in 4WD low. Plan a 2–3 hour round trip from town, bring water and goggles, and stop at the canyon mouth — most of the slot is foot-traffic only beyond that point.

What is Peek-a-boo Canyon?

Peek-a-boo (also called Red Canyon) is a narrow sandstone slot sculpted by flash floods in the BLM land south of Kanab. The approach is the UTV portion; the canyon walk is short, easy, and kid-friendly.

How long is the UTV ride?

From the Kanab UTV Rentals office at 815 E Highway 89, expect about 35–45 minutes each way at a relaxed pace, mostly on graded sand. Total round-trip mileage is roughly 16 miles.

Is Peek-a-boo Canyon beginner-friendly?

Yes. The road is soft sand but flat, with no technical sections, so it's the trail we recommend for first-time UTV drivers — provided you've completed the Utah OHV Safety Course.
