Kanab UTV Rentals

How do you ride Coral Pink Sand Dunes by UTV?

Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park is a 22-mile drive northwest of Kanab and accepts street-licensed or OHV-titled UTVs with a valid Utah safety sticker. Pay the day-use fee at the entrance, fly a neon safety whip, and ride between sunrise and 10 AM (or after 4 PM) when sand temperatures and crowds are lowest.

Do you need a permit for the dunes?

You need (1) a Utah OHV registration sticker — already on every Kanab UTV Rentals rental — and (2) a state-park day-use fee paid at the gate. No special trail permit is required for non-commercial riding.

What gear is required at the dunes?

Utah law requires a safety whip with a flag on any vehicle in the dune-riding zone, plus a DOT-approved helmet for drivers and passengers under 18. Both come standard with our Can-Am Maverick rentals.

Is it suitable for first-time UTV drivers?

The flat staging area is fine for beginners. The bowls and ridges require dune-driving technique — momentum, throttle control, and avoiding side-hilling — so warm up slowly. If you're brand new to UTVs, start at Peek-a-boo Canyon first.
